Aliou Diarra
Forward Aliou Diarra (F-2001) had a great game in the last round for top-ranked Stade, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 4.
The 21-year old player had a double-double of 22 points and 10 rebounds, while his team crushed ABC (3-2) with 19-point margin 90-71. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed Stade to take over top position in the Basketball Africa League. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost two games earlier this season. Stade has a very solid 3-2 record, but they cannot be too comfortable about keeping top position. Diarra just recently signed at Stade, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Aliou Diarra has solid league stats. He is in league's top in points (5th best: 17.6ppg) and averages impressive 2.0bpg and 56.9% FGP.
The second best player in last round's games was young American Cleveland Thomas (192-G-1993, agency: Slash Sports) of REG. Thomas had a very good evening with 38 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists. Bad luck as REG lost that game 79-84 to US Monastir (3-2). This loss caused REG to drop to 4th position in the standings. His team's 3-2 record is not bad at all. Thomas is one of the most experienced players at REG and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 16.8ppg (#6). His other stats are also decent: 4.6rpg and 6.4apg.
Third on the list of top players last round was American Marcus Crawford of league's second-best Douanes. Crawford scored 28 points and grabbed six rebounds. He was a key player of Douanes, leading his team to a 76-60 easy win against the lower-ranked US Monastir (3-2). Douanes needs these victories very badly if they think about taking over top position in the standings. Their record at this point is 3 victories and 2 lost games. Crawford has a great season in Basketball Africa League. After only 5 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 19.6ppg (3rd best) and assists with 3.8apg (8th best).
Other top performing players last week:

10. Rueben Chinyelu (203-F-2003) of Stade - 8 points, 13 rebounds and 2 assists
The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
